The "Get Out" Syllabus
Hi folks.
I'm super flattered by all of the interest and attention. It's time to get this show on the road. The actual "course" with video book discussions and an open discussion board will be up and running soon. I'm going to be reading and writing stuff at a rate about 1 book every 10 days give or take. For some of the books, I will have discussions with activists, other scholars, non academic folks, etc. For some, it will be just me.
I also realize that books are expensive, and not everyone has access or the time to get their hands on a lot of these texts. I recommend hitting up your local library and see what they have. Some libraries loan these out in ebook format as well, so you can use any e-reader you have, if your library has that service. I will also be searching for existing blogs, and other online, accessible content to act as companion pieces for all of the books. That way, if you have financial or other barriers to accessing the books, there will still be material gathered.
I'm really looking forward to having these discussions with you. There will be a lot more soon. Time to get reading folk. Let's all read, work, discuss, and seriously interrogate the work we need to be doing. Let's go.
